Director of Housekeeping

The Wanderluxe Collection | Michigan City, IN

The Wanderluxe Collection is looking for a Director of Housekeeping to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations for more than 150 vacation homes across Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan.

This is a year-round, full-time leadership role.

The Wanderluxe Collection was formed due to the growth of our flagship property, Beachwalk Resort- a storybook community of colorful cottages and beach homes just steps from Lake Michigan’s Sheridan Beach.

At The Wanderluxe Collection, we manage a diverse portfolio that includes Beachwalk Vacation Rentals, South Shore Vacation Homes, and IN the Dunes National Park Lodging, all united by a shared commitment to service, cleanliness, hospitality, and unforgettable stays.

What You’ll Do

• Recruit, lead, train, and inspire a large housekeeping and laundry team (up to 100 seasonal team members during the summer) across multiple properties.
• Build a culture of excellence, empowering your team to take pride in quality, service, and teamwork.
• Oversee daily operations, including inspections, inventory, ordering, and cost control.
• Continuously refine and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Support your team hands-on when needed. We believe great leaders lead by example.
• Partner closely with other departments, homeowners, and vendors to maintain the highest brand standards.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L reviews.
• Travel between properties as needed (reliable transportation required).

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 2 years of hospitality leadership experience in hotels, resorts, or vacation rentals, ideally with multi-site or high-volume operations.
• A proven ability to recruit, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, skilled at making sound decisions in the moment. process improvement and multi-tasking
• Proficient using technology and digital systems (PMS, maintenance apps, digital communications, etc.).
• A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, people-first environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, and select holidays.
• Some lifting required – up to 50 pounds.

You’ll report directly to our Vice President of Hospitality and play a key role in shaping guest experiences and team culture across The Wanderluxe Collection.
