Account Executive / Public Relations

Intrepid Marketing Group is a full-service marketing, advertising, and public relations agency with experience in traditional, digital, and social media. We are a group of hard-working and innovative marketers who provide our clients with quality service that leverages their brand message to reach their consumers in a marketplace that changes almost every day. Our clients span a variety of verticals, including professional and collegiate sports, nonprofits, retail, agriculture, homebuilding, and others.

Intrepid Marketing Group is currently seeking a qualified candidate located in the Triangle to join us! The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a problem-solver, passionate about public relations, communications, and social media, and thrives in a fun, fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate must also be a strong writer, verbal communicator, show initiative and leadership skills and work well under deadlines and in front of people.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute comprehensive annual and project PR plans that support client marketing and business objectives by maximizing client coverage with target media/influencers. Measure, analyze, and report on each plan's success

- Maintain trusted client relationships, including serving as day-to-day client lead on multiple accounts

- Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, ghostwritten thought leadership articles, blog posts, etc.

- Regularly update clients and management on media wins and impact 

- Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media contacts

- Brainstorm and develop innovative methods of achieving client goals

- Keep a detailed list of tasks, client status reports, media hits, etc.

- Develop, manage, and track social media campaigns for clients

- Create quarterly client reports

- Occasionally develop social media content for clients. Identify and secure social media influencer participation for certain projects and events.

- Assist in organizing and managing media events for clients’ key milestones or industry events

- Participate in new business processes (market research and competitive landscape analysis) and client pitches

- Take on additional projects that are PR-adjacent as needed.

Requirements:

- Four-year degree in journalism, communications or a related field

- 2 to 4 years of previous experience in a public relations and media relations role

- Working knowledge of the mass media and the ability to write and pitch news-related stories

- Passion and enthusiasm for working in the communications industry

- A detailed, organized, self-starter with great interpersonal skills

- Working knowledge of the social media landscape and how to utilize social media tools to advance marketing platforms

- Knowledge of managing brand social media accounts 

- Strong writing, organizational, public speaking, and leadership skills

- Experience with public relations media database software (Muck Rack preferred) a plus

- Knowledge of local, regional, and national media markets as well as a robust list of contacts is a plus

- Creative thinker, self-starter, and highly motivated

- Design skills including graphic design, video and audio editing a plus

- Willingness to shoulder additional responsibilities that are requested by Intrepid Marketing Group as needed

Other Items:

- 100% Remote but l ocated in the Raleigh/Durham area

- Some on-site or in-person meetings are expected

- Minimal travel
